Mr. Oberg joined Yewchuk Engineering Ltd., in August, 1976. Duties consisted of designing all facets of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems including computer energy analyses of proposed buildings. In January 1985, Mr. Oberg was elected President and major shareholder in Yewchuk Engineering (1979) Ltd.


Mr. Oberg has extensive experience on a broad spectrum of mechanical commissions. His specialties include air conditioning, industrial ventilation, heat transfer, heating, plumbing, digital and pneumatic control systems. Mr. Oberg also has considerable experience in computer aided design and building energy simulation programming. He has extensive experience in design of medical, institutional, commercial and research facilities. Mr. Oberg has been directly involved in management and administration as well as "hands-on" design and project management.


He has been responsible for the complete mechanical design of some major developments including:


  • Stanton Yellowknife Hospital, N.W.T.
  • Sturgeon General Hospital, St. Albert
  • Holy Trinity and Ecole McTavish (LEED) Schools in Ft. McMurray
  • Alberta Environment Centre in Vegreville
  • Coal Research Center in Devon
  • N.A.I.T. Instructional Space, phases I and II
  • Michener Center, functional upgrading


Mr. Oberg is the lead design engineer and duties include conceptual design, energy recovery concepts, final design and acting as a liaison with other consultants and team members.

Mr. Hukalo joined Yewchuk Engineering Ltd. in March, 1969. He is involved in design, production of working drawings, specification writing, processing shop drawings, maintenance manuals, commissioning and field services.


Mr. Hukalo has an extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering commissions and brings with him over 40 years of technical expertise in the field of HVAC design of buildings. Mr. Hukalo has been involved in design, production of working drawings, specification writing, processing shop drawings, maintenance manuals, commissioning and quality assurance. He has also been responsible for coordination between the design team members. Mr. Hukalo has extensive experience in all phases of design, production and supervision of all projects produced by this firm. He has developed the firm's product specification and construction documents including commissioning and performance testing standards.
